Adjoint nonlinear active noise control algorithm for virtual microphone

چکیده
Controlling nonlinear noise processes at a virtual location involves higher computational complexity compared to traditional active noise control (ANC) at a physical sensor. In an attempt to reduce the computational burden, a filtered-error LMS based ANC algorithm is proposed in this paper for controlling a nonlinear noise process at a virtual location. The filtered-error based algorithm using the adjoint of the secondary path is used to develop both linear and nonlinear ANC controllers with the later based on the functional link artificial neural network. A computer simulation and real-time experimental study with detailed computational complexity analysis are presented to support the proposed algorithm.

متن کاملA nonlinear active noise control algorithm for virtual microphones controlling chaotic noise.
In active noise control (ANC) systems, virtual microphones provide a means of projecting the zone of quiet away from the physical microphone to a remote location. To date, linear ANC algorithms, such as the filtered-x least mean square (FXLMS) algorithm, have been used with virtual sensing techniques. In this paper, a nonlinear ANC algorithm is developed for a virtual microphone by integrating ...
متن کاملActive noise control at a moving virtual microphone using the SOTDF moving virtual sensing method
Traditional local active noise control systems minimise the measured acoustic sound pressure to generate a zone of quiet at a physical error sensor. The resulting zone of quiet is generally limited in size and as such, placement of a physical error sensor at the location of desired attenuation is required, which is often inconvenient. Virtual acoustic sensors can be used to project the zone of ...
متن کاملActive noise control at a virtual acoustic energy density sensor in a three-dimensional sound field
A common problem in local active noise control is that the zone of quiet centered at the physical microphone is too small to extend to the desired location of attenuation, such as an observer’s ear. The physical microphone must therefore be placed at the desired location of attenuation, which is often inconvenient. Virtual microphones overcome this by shifting the zone of quiet away from the ph...
متن کاملAdjoint LMS (ALMS) Algorithm Based Active Noise Control with Feedback Path Modeling
In active noise control (ANC) systems, there exists an inherent feedback from the loudspeaker to the primary microphone. Adjoint least mean square (ALMS) algorithm is known to be an alternative to the widely used filtered x LMS (FxLMS) for reducing the computational complexity and memory requirements, especially in the case of multi-channel systems. Further FxLMS algorithm is based on the assum...
